TAZZ · TURN 6 · RIG AND LIGHTS
Starting a song sets up your rig and your lights
The scene designer and MIDI cues open from ⚙ in 5a (Song setup), off the performance lane, and use the chart area. ▦ Grid, next to Eyes, adds the light measure grid. Below: what a song sends to your gear on 16 MIDI channels, and how the lights get driven.
6a Song start · MIDI Rig setup: which device is on which channel. Placing cues on bars and beats happens on the live chart (5a → MIDI cues).

Listen lets your rig talk back: a program change from your keyboard can call up the next song, and ch 10 notes can be your tap or follow source. Lighting cues can go out as MIDI too (see 6b).
6b How the lights get driven
You design scenes once in TAZZ. Each connection below receives them. Recommended first build: 1 and 2.

TAZZ · TURN 5 · HOW THE CHART FOLLOWS YOU
Time moves the chart. Your eyes only nudge it.
Pick a source: the metronome, your playing (MIDI or sound), or eyes on devices with a front camera. Whichever you pick, the bar is driven by time. Where you're looking can confirm it or pull it at most one bar, and only after you've held your gaze there. A glance away or ahead never moves it.

TAZZ · TURN 4 · MEASURE CHART
One bracket is one measure. The dots ride over it.
Each [ ] is a bar in the song's time signature. Chords inside it take the width of the beats they last, each marked with its note value. The beat dots sit over every bar and light up in time on the bar being played. The bass lane is built from the UG original, re-timed to your version.
4a Measure chart · Amazing Grace · 3/4 Running at 78. Bar 7 splits A7 (half) and D (quarter); bar 16 has eighths.

4b How it's written
A chord on its own fills the whole bar. Add a note value to split it.
time 3/4 key G tempo 78 [G] [G7] [C] [G] [G] [Em] [A7:h D:q] [D] ... [G:q D7:q G:e C:e] bass [G:q B:q D:q] ...
{{ lg.code }} {{ lg.glyph }} {{ lg.name }}
Add a dot for a dotted note (h. is 3 beats in 3/4). If a bar's values don't add up to its time signature, it's flagged on save rather than guessed.
Band parts: built from the UG original's parts, then re-timed bar by bar to your version. Bars where your chords differ from the original are marked for you to check.
TAZZ · TURN 2 · THE CX CONCEPT
You lead. The band waits to be invited.
One live session, two screens. Step the performer through the start of a song: loaded, you establish the feel, the band enters on the downbeat. The drummer beside you sees the same position on their own screen, with their own click and mix.

Click goes to my headphones only, never the PA. Jeff's real piano and voice reach me through the mixer's monitor feed; joining the session doesn't carry their audio.
2c Test on real gear first
The screens shouldn't promise these until they've been tried on your iPad and interface:
MIDI straight into an iPadSafari on iPad doesn't support Web MIDI. Mic listening works; a keyboard may need a bridge through the stage computer.
Click right, band leftBrowsers differ on picking audio outputs. Separate headphone and PA routing has to be proven per device.
Bluetooth for a live clickFine for rehearsal. Too much delay for a drummer's click on stage; wired is the dependable path.
